  • 1. HOW DO I GET VISA TO ENTER VIETNAM, LAOS & CAMBODIA? 

     

    Cambodia visa:
    You can get a Cambodia visa upon arrival without previous arrangements. You only need to pay a USD$25 fee (this fee maybe differ depending on the nationality of passport holder) and 2 passport sized pictures for each traveler. Then you will get visa upon arrival the airport to enter Cambodia Kingdom.

     

    Laos visa:
    You can get a Laos visa upon arrival without previous arrangements. You only need to pay a USD$25 fee (this fee maybe differ depending on the nationality of passport holder) and 2 passport sized pictures for each traveler. Then you will get visa upon arrival the airport to enter Laos.

     

    Vietnam visa
    To enter Vietnam, you must have a Vietnam visa stamp beforehand or a Vietnam visa on arrival pre-approved letter. A tourist visa for Vietnam can be obtained from any Vietnam embassy or consulate office worldwide. This visa is valid for 30 days, single entry and can be extended through our offices in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
    Vietnam visa on arrival: Indochina Leisure can arrange your visa upon arrival to Vietnam (Single Entry, One month Valid or Multiple Entry, One Month Valid) by sending you the visa on arrival pre-approved letter. With this letter you can get a Vietnam visa stamp upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, Danang airport in Danang or Noi Bai International airport in Hanoi. This letter is the complimentary for our tour guests only (except special nationalities), should be done at least 7 days before your arrival date (otherwise you have to pay for urgent visa service).

    Kindly advise us if you want us to arrange this visa on arrival pre-approved letter once your booking has been confirmed and provide us the following information:


    1) Full name on passport
    2) Passport number
    3) Expiry Date of the passport
    4) Date of birth
    5) Gender
    6) Nationality
    7) Date of arrival
    8) Flight number and landing time
    9) Fax number or your email address to receive the approval letter

     

    After 3-5 days working, we received the approval visa letter from the Immigration Department and pass it to you via email/ fax. Kindly have it printed out and shown to the custom when you arrive the airport in Vietnam. You pay directly to the custom US$ 45 per person for Single Entry Visa & US$ 95 per person for Multiple Entry Visa, give them 2 passport sized picture each person and wait for about 15 minutes, then you will get the visa to enter Vietnam.
    Be advised that we process visa on arrival for our in house guests only. We do not arrange visa service.

    3. DISTANCE FROM THE AIPORTS TO CITIES/ TOWNS

    Hanoi: From Noi Bai international airport to the Old Quarter: 40-45kms (45 minutes driving)

    Hue: From Phu Bai airport to Hue city: 13km (15 minutes driving)

    Hoian: From Da Nang airport to Hoi An town: 30km (25 minutes driving)

    Nha trang: From Cam Ranh airport to Nha Trang : about 30-40km (30 minutes driving)

    Hochiminh city : From Tan Son Nhat International airport to the city centre (District 1): (about 25 minutes driving)


    *** Be careful with the fake taxis in the large cities as they will overcharge you. Do not take the offer from taxi drivers or touts, who want to take you to their hotels. You can easily find a taxi/bus ticket counter in the arrival hall.

    You should book airport transfers with us in advance or book with your hotels to arrange airport pick up.

     

    4. WHAT IS CURRENCY AND HOW TO EXCHANGE MONEY VIETNAM? HOW TO USE CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS AND WHERE ARE ATMs?


    Currency

    Dong (VND). Notes are in denominations of 500,000, 200,000, 100,000, 50,000, 20,000, 10,000, 5,000, 2,000, 1,000, 500, 200 and 100. Coins are in denominations of 5,000, 2,000, 1,000 and 500.


    Currency Exchange

    The US Dollar is the most favored foreign currency. Australian, British, Japanese, Singaporean and Thai currency, as well as the Euro, can usually be changed in the larger cities; great difficulty may be encountered in trying to exchange any other currencies. There is a commission charge for changing money in banks.
    Note : you may do an exchange US Dollar at the jewelry shops in Hanoi and Hochiminh city


    Credit/Debit Cards and ATMs

    An increasing number of outlets accept MasterCard and Visa. However, outside main towns and cities, it is wise to carry cash. There are ATMs in many major towns , but not everywhere.
    ATMs are available in Hanoi , Halong bay, Dien Bien Phu, SonLa, CaoBang, LangSon , HaiPhong, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa , Vinh, Hue, HoiAn old town, Danang , Nhatrang, CamRanh, Dalat, Kontum, Buon Ma Thuot, Hochiminh city, CanTho, ChauDoc, HaTien, CaMau.


    Traveller Cheques

    These are widely accepted in hotels and banks. To avoid additional exchange ratecharges, travellers are advised to take travellers cheques in US Dollars.

    5. HOW ABOUT THE CLIMATE AND WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO TRAVEL IN VIETNAM, LAOS AND CAMBODIA?

    Laos: The rainy season is from May to October. During this time, the tropical lowlands average 30 degrees celsius, while the mountains remain cooler. The first half of the ‘dry’ season isfrom November to February; temperatures during this time range from 10 to 25 degrees celsiu s. Mornings and evenings in the north of Laos around Luang Prabang can be quite cool at this time of the year. During the second half of the ‘dry’ season - from March to June - the temperature can rise to up to 35 degrees celsius. The dry season (from November to February) is the favourite time of many travellers.

     

    Cambodia: The most pleasant being the dry season from November to March when temperatures are slightly cooler with little rain. The hot season lasts from March to May with average temperatures from 29 to 38 degrees Celcius. The rainy season, which is both hot and humid, is from June to October (the wettest months are August to September). During this period it rains for a short time in the afternoon, temple moats are full, the scenery is greener, and there are fewer people at the temples. Many people prefer to travel at this time of the year.

     

    Viet nam: Travelling through Vietnam, you will notice a big difference in climate between the north and the south. In the north the raining season starts in july august, end in september.The south of Vietnam ( Ho Chi Minh City) is near the equator, so It has two season: raining and dry season. The raining season stars around: March to October and The dry season from November to April. During the raining season it rain nearly every day but just for haft an hour to one hour and then shining again.
    The best time to visit Vietnam ( Also the tourist season for westerner) is between August to April when the weather tend to be good in both North and South.

     

    6. CAN I USE MY CELL PHONE IN VIETNAM ?

    Sure! you can use your cell phone in Vietnam , and use pre-paid card to call, you buy another pre-paid card for your callings, simcard cost 50.000, calling card 100.000VND, oversea call rate 7000VNd/minute. You can buy a Vinaphone , Mobile phone , Viettel SIM card anywhere in Vietnam.

     

    7. HOW SHOULD I BRING CLOTHES AND SHOES WHEN TRAVELLING OR TREKKING IN VIETNAM?

    In Vietnam, there is a difference of climate in the norht and the south, especially in the winter. You should bring warm clothes when travelling in the north of Vietnam from November to March. In the centre ( Hoian ) and south Vietnam ( Saigon, Nhatrang, Mekong ) , the climate around 25 °C to 33°C , just need to bring summer clothes.
    Annual temperature for Sa Pa town is 15.4°C, with a maximum of 29.4°C and a minimum of 1°C. The warmest months are July and August, and the coldest months are December and January. Snow falls in some years on the highest peaks.

     

    8. HOW TO TRAVEL TO CAMBODIA VIA MEKONG DELTA?

    The new crossing into ChauDoc (245 km from Ho Chi Minh City) to Phnompenh, Cambodia is passable either by boat - Ticket cost around 30USD for hydrofoil, taking 4 -5 hours from around 07.30am in ChauDoc - Arrival time 01.00pm. You may apply visa on arrival at the border to Cambodia - cost US$ 20.00

     

    9. HOW TO CROSSING BORDER TO LAOS?
    From Hanoi the daily bus to Vientiane , passing Cau Treo border. Takes about 20 hours and departs everyday at 7 PM..
    There is a border crossing into Laos in Hatinh (Cautreo Border). You can catch the bus from HN to Ha tinh easily (340km) and then go to Cau treo border by bus (120km). From border to Vientiane distance about 200km.
    From Hue or Danang, you can take the bus to Xavanakhet crossing Lao Bao border gate. You should have visa in advance , cannot get visa at the border. Visa on arrival just available at the airport.

     

    10. HOW CAN I MAKE A BOOKING?

    Booking can be actually made online on our website http://indochinaleisure.com . Once you are interested in the trip, you go to the tab “BOOK THE TOUR” and fill in the reservation forms, your information & requirement will be send to us, you will also receive a copy. The online payment system will also ask you to fill in your credit card details, our bank system will charge US$ 100.00 = 2,226,000 Vietnam Dong for the advance deposit. This procedure is made by machine but not human made. When we are informed by the bank system that your payment has gone through, we will have you be informed and go ahead to confirm your trip. If the amount of your trip is big, we may ask for extra deposit by sending you an online payment link, balance should be settled in cash upon arrival or by credit card at least 2 weeks before your trip starts.

    11. IS IT RELIABLE TO BOOK ONLINE AND WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLITY?
    Making an online reservation is very easy, high secured and safe. Just complete the secured reservations form, making sure that you give us your e-mail address. As soon as we receive your request we will reply within 12 hours.

    Cancellations will be charged as follows:

    1. Stopover Tour & Packages Tours - Cancellations will be charged as following:
    >30 days before arrival: no cancellation charge (only US$ 100 non refundable deposit per person will be forfeited)
    14-29 days before arrival: 10% of the cost of the Tour is forfeited
    6-13 days before arrival: 40% of the cost of the Tour is forfeited
    < 5 days before arrival: 100 % of the cost of the Tour is forfeited

     

    2. Halong Bay Tours - Cancellation will be charged as following:
    100% money back, even last minutes if bad weather conditions (100% money refunded)
    Over one week: 0% of the cost of the Tour is forfeited
    Over 72 hours: 50% of the cost of the Tour is forfeited
    Less than 48 hours: 100% of the cost of the Tour is forfeited

     

    3. Daily Tours - Cancellations will be charged as following:
    100% money back, even last minutes if bad weather conditions (100% money refunded)
    Over 48 hours: 0% of the cost of the Tour is forfeited (Any reasons of guests)
    Less than 48 hours: 100% of the cost of the Tour is forfeited

     

    All money (following cancellation policy) will be refunded via Online Payment System if you made deposit or payment by Credit Card via Internet (but the refund does not include 3.5% banking service fee). Consumers will receive money within 3 – 7 days when Indochina Leisure does refund. If you make deposit or payment by banking transfer via bank, you will receive money via bank account after one week when Indochina Leisure does refund! Your rights will be protected highly by Indochina Leisure.
    No refunds or exchanges can be made in respect of accommodation, meals, sightseeing tours, transport or any other services which are included in the Tour prices but not utilized by the Tour member.

     

    12. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I MADE ONLINE BOOKING?
    When we have well received your information, traveling requirement and payment, we will send you an “acknowledgement letter” to let you know that we are processing your booking. After we received all the written confirmation from hotels, cruises, restaurants etc… we will send you right away the BOOKING CONFIRMATION VOUCHER as well as detailed guidance to use our services.

     

    13. HOW SAFE ARE MY CREDIT CARD DETAILS?
    When you make online payment for us, we are not the person who charge your credit card but you do it directly on the internet. The transaction is processed by machines but not human. Thus, your personal details & credit card information is 100% secured.


    14. WHAT ABOUT TRAVEL INSURANCE?

    We DO NOT INCLUDE travel insurance in our trip price. Travel insurance is a must & compulsory for any tourists. We highly recommend that all travelers should have travel insurance covered before traveling and prepare in advance on your account. This will be really helpful in case of medical emergency evacuation. It is with go safe. The travel insurance will cover against Hospital and Medical expenses, the cover relates to expenses as a consequence of accidents occurring to the bearer during the period of Insurance and/or unforeseen illnesses which arise during that period as well.

     

    15. WHAT LANGUGE(S) DOES THE TOUR GUIDE SPEAK?

    Normally we use English or French speaking tour guides for your trip. Other languages are upon requested (such as: Russian, Spain, German, Chinese, Indonesian...) and extra charge will be applied accordingly.

     

    16. IS TIPPING COMPUSORY? HOW MUCH DO I TIP?

    Tipping is not compulsory (except when you use Chinese & Indonesian speaking guide) but when you are happy with the service, then you give tip to the driver & tour guide. Our clients always give tip at least 1 USD/ guest/day for the driver and 3 USD/guest/day for the tour guide.

     

    17. WHAT ARE THE DIFFRENCES BETWEEN 3* HOTELS AND 4* HOTELS?

    All the hotels that Indochina Leisure Travel suggested you were selected carefully by our sales team and  the good recommendation from other processional tour operators as well as good comments from our clients who stayed there. The comments based on the hotels' good location, sanitation and services. However, if you take 4* hotels, you get the below differences:
    - Better hotel location
    - More Luxurious facilities & amenities
    - Larger room with luxurious equipment
    - Better & more professional customer care
    - Professional Staffs
